Just for a minute I wondered why you had a pic of my cat on your post!
My little Red wasn't a stray as he came from a friends cats unexpected litter but my tortie was a rescue and I totally back giving any cat who needs a forever home a loving one if you can.
Numbers 2 and 3 will last approximately a week, believe me, before it's: "excuse me, is that the Co-op cheap cat food, is it, is it? No, I expect As Bad As It Smells or I go and catch my own."
Bless you for taking in a stray cat. I have taken in many over the years, in fact I've never consciously gone out and looked for a cat. I love your idea of gifts i.e. leaf or button ! At my age I won't be going out looking for a cat, but if one turns up (as they seem to do) my door is ever open ...
My cat moved in with me from a bad situation with the neighbour (I did get permission, but I wasn't letting him stay either way). Is he grateful? Is he heck. I've never known a cat with such an all encompassing sense of self-entitlement. That attitude is probably what got him out of his previous situation so I guess I should be grateful...

I couldn't have resisted him either - or is he a her?
Gorgeous George seems to be settling in and making himself at home! He's a right like. Hope the others are going to get on with him.
My friend says ginger cats are magical. My Gerald certainly is. Looks like he's settling in nicely x
He's so beautiful. He does look to be your hippy cat. I can see why you had to take him in.

You had me convinced at point 1.
I'm pleased you have another addition to your Merry Band! I can't wait to read more about him in your next book.
