Today I went to a hedgehog hospital. Best story I heard while I was there: "One hedgehog arrived here alone in a taxi. The driver said the fare was already covered."
Added the lady in charge of the hedgehog hospital, after a pause: ""It had come 40 miles, all the way from Watford."
Oh how cute, did he have luggage? X
What a cutie. We found a baby hedgehog wandering round during the day earlier in the week so we brought him in and gave him something to eat and drink. We soon found out that all of the rescue centres in a three county radius were full and had to quickly learn how to look after the little guy and check for signs that he's getting sick etc. It's pretty hardcore, and I am full of admiration for people who foster wild animals, thankfully we had a lot of help with the Hedgehog Society and Little Prickles Hedgehog Rescue. Today, we took him to the vet for a check up and his wife already is looking after two so he is now with them and is having the best of care :)
The cats weren't impressed with him, one threw up after looking at him - must have been the spines that grossed him out! Still, I miss him with his cute little happy squeaks when he was eating :)
