Crumbs, cats are, down deep, and sometimes not very deep, wild animals that have learnt to shape humans for their own uses. The idea of taking a cat for a walk grates, although I have seen moggies follow their human-tin-opener "owner" some distance. But on their meown terms.
When one of our cats wasn't allowed out and about due to a leg injury and became frantic about it we eventually tried letting her have a little sniff about outside while on a harness and lead (one a lot less 'bling' than those).
