By the way, I also worry about my cats in the event of a housefire (as you say you do in the book). Whenever the smoke alarm goes off they all hurtle upstairs rather than out of the cat flap which rather worries me. When they were in the USA a few years ago my parents got me a 'cat finder' sticker to put next to the door, to alert firefighters that there is a pet in the house. (It says 'in case of fire please rescue cat'). You can also make your own -with neon card- which I have anyway as I needed to adapt mine to say 'six cats, plus a guinea pig in a cage in upstairs front room'.
