I love finding old photos that have been mistakenly left in secondhand books. I think my ultimate dream is that one day someone leaves a photo as good as those on www.awkwardfamilypetphotos.com in a copy of Under The Paw or Talk To The Tail.
Being involved in the 'Cat Fancy'and cat shows for 20 years, I can guesstimate this photo was taken in the early 80's and this guy paid a lot to a professional photographer for this cheesy pose. Those cat photographers are good with cats, not so much with humans...
And I'm very proud to admit to the fact that I actually know someone on that site!!! http://awkwardfamilypetphotos.com/2010/04/24/best-in-show/ owns British Shorthairs and is frequently in the next aisle to me at the shows locally!!
