Someone I know said that after years of witnessing near misses they once saw a neighbour's cat 'Grabber' leap off a bungalow roof and take out a passing seagull in mid swoop. She said that as they crashed to the lawn in a mad tangle the cat did seem a bit surprised to see just how big gulls are close up! (I did ask, and she said the gull got away and the cat ran off -presumably to tell all it's friends "I caught one and it was THIS BIG!").
